Burt Hevia
Burt is an of counsel partner at the Firm since 2022. He is a lawyer and a public accountant, graduated from Universidad de Los Andes in 2005 and 2006, respectively (Mérida, Venezuela). He obtained a Specialization Degree in Tax Law from Universidad Central de Venezuela. He attended programs in Corporate Finance at Universidad Central de Venezuela (Caracas, Venezuela) and International Taxation at the Instituto Tecnológico de México (ITAM), and at Maastricht University (Maastricht, The Netherlands).
Since 2018, he has been part of the tax consulting and estate planning team at NERUBAY (Mexico
City, Mexico). Prior to joining NERUBAY, he was an associate lawyer at Baker & McKenzie, Deloitte and D’Empaire in the tax consulting and litigation divisions (Caracas, Venezuela).
He is a member of the Venezuelan Tax Law Association (AVDT) and the International Fiscal
Association (IFA, Venezuela chapter). He has been an invited temporary professor in Tax Law at
Universidad Católica del Táchira and Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (Venezuela). He has several
publications on topics related to local and international taxation.
